Abstract
Drug quality is increased dramatically by removing of its impurities. The molecularly imprinted polymers have the essential advantages such as high selectivity and chemical stability and low price that can be used as an effective method with high efficiency for obtained pure drug.
In this project، a molecularly imprinted polymer for separation of ۶-hydroxy -2 4 5-tri amino pyrimidine as impurity of folic acid was synthesized. A new molecularly imprinted polymer was synthesized using, methacrylic acid (functional monomer) ،ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (cross-linker) ، ۲,۲-azobisisobutironitril (intiator) ، ۶-hydroxy -2 4 5-tri amino pyrimidine (template) ، and toluene and acetonitrile (solvent) and silica nanoparticle. This process was causing a non-covalent، bulk،thermal radical polymerization.
To compare the performance of this polymer, a molecularly non- imprinted polymer was prepared under the same conditions without the of template molecule. The synthesized polymers were characterized by FT-IR and XRD spectroscopy. In addition, various parameters such as pH ، time ، type of eluent for elution of impurity form polymer wereoptimized.
